ABOUT

Stability Ball and Stretching Band

RACHEL RUANE

I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Kings College London in 1999 and then gained broad practical and multi-disciplinary physio experience in some of London's largest teaching hospitals, working for the NHS in various physiotherapy departments before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I have since worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in both the NHS and private sectors.

In 2016 as a postgraduate, and following a career break to have children, I furthered my love of Pilates by qualifying as an APPI Pilates instructor. Now alongside teaching Pilates classes, I use my Pilates skills to compliment hands on techniques during physiotherapy treatment.

I enjoy meeting people and understanding what is important to them and some of the pressures they invariably have in their lives, this allows me to tailor my physio skills and experience to help them reach their goals. I am committed to providing up-to-date, evidence based physiotherapy care, balanced with many years in practice, and general life experience!

On personal level, I have a keen interest in sport; I have a degree in sports science and in my spare time I play tennis and golf, go to the gym and constantly evolve my Pilates exercises, in between juggling a busy family life. When not actively involved, I spend a lot of time on the side of hockey and cricket pitches and tennis courts supporting my four children.

WHAT I OFFER:

  • 1:1 physiotherapy assessment and treatment

  • 1:1 Pilates assessment and 1:1 Pilates tailored to your needs following an assessment

  • Small group pilates classes
